Super Hard Mode in PETAPETA School of Nightmares

Second 3000-shard unlock, +100% shards, red-eye PETAPETA, and the September 2026 PvP Super Hard lane.

Super Hard Mode

Super Hard is the top PvE difficulty in PETAPETA: School of Nightmares and, as of 4 September 2026, also a PvP option. It costs 3000 Cursed Shards on the Skill up tree after Hard Mode. Hosting Super Hard makes PETAPETA faster and more dangerous. Shard payouts double (community planning example: a 150 cap run can feel like 300 if you extract full). This page is the Super Hard-only checklist so you do not buy it while still dying to locker exits on Normal.

PETAPETA on the courtyard stairs — Super Hard leaves less room to miss a hide

Unlock rules

  • Price: 3000 Cursed Shards, same as Hard.
  • Buy Hard first. Super Hard is a second purchase, not a skip.
  • Hosting the lobby at Super Hard applies the faster hunter to everyone in that run.
  • Default carry cap is still 150 until you upgrade Capacity. Double payout does not help if you die and keep 20%.

Read Cursed Shards and the skill planner before you click the node. Capacity and Stun should already feel automatic.

What changes versus Hard

Hard is +50% shards and a faster PETAPETA with small visual tells (horns/pupils). Super Hard is +100% shards and the harshest model read: community reports describe red eyes and twisted skin. Treat those visuals as a difficulty check when you join a random lobby.

Level letters climb. Community notes put Super Hard level 4 around S difficulty, with Mini PETAPETA collapse risk. If you still Wrong-Key spam after a hide, stay on Hard. Mechanics of levels 1–4 stay the same — glass, teleports, Mini PETAPETA — they just punish slower. Use the walkthrough for gimmicks and this page for pressure.

Survival contract

  1. Hug locker walls. Super Hard is not the time to loot courtyard center desks first.
  2. Hide on footsteps, not on the scream. The scream is already late — How to Hide.
  3. Stun is a bridge into a locker, never a DPS fantasy. PETAPETA cannot be killed.
  4. Sprint in bursts. Empty stamina in Super Hard is a down.
  5. Extract greed last. A full 150 bank at 20% after death is worse than a 80-shard clean escape.

Super Hard PvP (2026-09-04)

The live Roblox description for 9/4 adds Super Hard Mode to PvP plus new PvP skills. That is a different queue from PvE Super Hard. Rebuild versus loadouts on PvP. Remnants of PETAPETA’s Love still sit in PvP shoe lockers from the 8/28 patch — do not farm remnants while a player-hunter Super Hard PETAPETA is on your wing.

Priority tickets from the 8/21 ranked update are for queue speed, not difficulty. Spend them when you are warmed up.

Who should wait

  • You have not cleared Normal levels 1–4 cleanly.
  • You have not hosted Hard without collapsing to Mini PETAPETA — Mini PETAPETA.
  • Your tree still lacks Capacity or first Stun.
  • You are buying Super Hard as a badge, not as a shard farm.

If any line is you, stay on Hard Mode and Getting Started fundamentals.

Controls, school map, Archives after overflow exists, PETAPETA for hunter tells, Updates for the 9/4 line, Guides Hub for the index.

Super Hard is a multiplier on habits you already have. If locker timing is messy, the extra shards will never reach the bank.
